The sites also have a program that will clean it for you, Also Facebook and Google have set up a popup message to alert you to check your computer if it detects something out of the ordinary and redirects you to the dns-ok webstite.

You realize that if you have the Malware on you computer it wont be down for 1 day it can easily take months before your internet it back unless you fix it now -.-, All the ISP's will have millions of people ringing them asking them what to do, wtf is wrong and abusing them and the only way from them to fix it is to actually manually o to your house and fix it themself. So no it isn't going to take 1 day.

I don't believe it will be months, maybe a few weeks... malware is pretty simple to detect and remove if you have the right software. so their is no need for them to come to each house individually. LOL :D

Where are you going to download the software from if you have no internet ?

Unless they send out a mass amount of CD's with the software on it, or you have access to the internet from another house.

They said that it could take up to a couple of months for a couple of people depending on how quick you are to call about it.

It isn't any normal malware, It cant be detected by your AV there is only 2 ways to take it off your computer (this specific one) Go in and find in through your Sys32 or Use one of the programs provided by the dns-ok website (Mainly because you know they are legit) Also if DNSChanger manages to get into your router it has to be replaced (It takes a while for the malware to disable everything because it mask's it all and turn's it all off but makes it look like it is actually on).

From then on your screwed every single Trojan, Key-logger etc can infect your computer with out you even knowing.

That's why the FBI has said that it has been the biggest cyber crime bust in many years. <--- This was said in 2006 when they managed to apprehend 6 of the 7 cyber hackers (The 6 that where caught where all estonian, The 7th is Russian (The groups "HQ" was in Estonia) all varying from the ages of 21 to 27)
