    Windows 7 help

I shut my new PC down to move it across my room (From Start menu) unplugged everything, and moved it, hooked it back up, and it said to launch Start-up Repair. So I did, Windows loaded files, then the computer stopped responding. (Complete lock up) I rebooted (Held the power button) and tried to load windows normally, and it locked up again at the "starting windows" screen.

The only way for the PC to run is to start in Safe Mode.

I've made the Recovery Disk twice now, it sometimes loads as far as the Select Language screen, but never further. Most of the time it just stops after windows loads its files.

    It's Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

And I have no idea what to do from here.

If you need anymore info, I'll do my best.

I also booted into Safe Mode with cmdprmt and ran sfc/scannow and it found no errors.

If it cannot load some files, it seems like your harddrive is damaged. Have you got another Harddrive? You could try booting from it

When you enter safe mode do a total system recovery, it will re set all of your settings to the purchased state. yes you will lose some information, but what you really need can be salvaged or sent thru safe mode to a sealed file.

Reboot from original DVD install - choose *repair* - let it do his stuff - reboot - DL all updates

And very important: next time don't be in hurry, think about the time you're just loosing, you'll see 5min in a lifetime is really nothing.
